CAREY STANDARD F-HOLE - SIGNAL RED
PJD guitars are handmade in England from the finest, locally sourced tonewoods and top quality electronics and hardware, including Bare Knuckle, Gotoh, and Switchcraft. New for October 2019, this Carey Standard channels all the features and specifications of its Elite big brother, and offers itself in a solid satin nitro colour finish with a poplar body. The Standard is slightly warmer sounding than the Elite, with more emphasis on the lower-to-mid-range voicing. This is a true workhorse guitar!
This particular Carey Standard is the first one to be available at Guitar Galleries, and its poplar semi-hollow body is finished in a striking Signal Red shade with a white pickguard and backplates to contrast. The maple neck features a custom neck profile based on a standard "C" shape, 25.5" scale length, 42mm Tusq nut, and a Rosewood fingerboard with a compound radius 10"/12", and 22 stainless steel Jescar frets. The Carey is equipped with Bareknuckle "Old Guard" pickups, as well as a Gotoh hardtail bridge, Gotoh Vintage Style tuners, Switchcraft switch and jack socket, and CTS 500k volume and tone. The guitar comes with a hard case and official PJD certificate of authenticity.
Leigh, the creator of the Carey, says this:
"My take on an age old classic design. Using only the highest quality parts and tone woods to meticulously craft each instrument with the greatest attention to detail, the hand carved neck is supremely comfortable, delivering the feel of a heavily played-in vintage instrument. The body is lightweight and the contoured heel block as standard allows for ease of access to top frets."
